As I get ready to go out for the last time to one of my favorite places in Stamford, BUtterfield 8, I felt the need to reflect on my time here.
I've been fortunate enough that during school, I had internships that brought me all of the country from RTP in NC to Silicon Valley in CA, yet I always found myself back in the northeast. I guess with all my friends and family being here, it was always the default choice, even when I had the opportunity to move west when I was graduating.
Now that I am a little older, more mature, and potentially wiser, I am realizing that I am lucky enough to have friends everywhere. Yes, the bulk of my friends are in NY and CT, but over time, a lot of my friends have migrated west, and I know that I will meet new people over in CA.
With my entire life in boxes and bags, and the drive coming up, I am truly excited to see what the world has to offer, I am honestly extremely grateful to have this opportunity, and will give it my all.
Come Monday night, I will be on my way to San Francisco, with a slight detour in Las Vegas for 2 nights. I am definitely lucky to be making the trip with a friend who is as psyched about the trip as me. Vegas in 3 days is doable, right?

Everything's Moving Along
All things considered, I am impressed with how smoothly everything is going with my move so far. My roommate in CA has found an apartment in an awesome location (Mission in San Francisco), a moving company is coming to pick up all my belongings Monday morning (window of 8-10), and once they have everything packed, I am going to begin my road trip.
It looks like a friend of mine is going to join me for the trip, and here's the tentative route
Gonna try to meet up with a friend of mine in Vegas on Friday, which I think is definitely feasible if I leave Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.
It's definitely surreal thinking that all of this has been planned and executed in less than a week.
Now I just need to get rid of my laziness and finish packing. It's crazy thinking my entire life is in boxes, and will be on its way to Cali.

Beginning of a blog
So I always swore I wouldn't start blogging, but I figure with the upcoming changes in my life these next few weeks, now more than ever makes a perfect entry point.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Ian Pedowitz. I am a Network Engineer and I used to work in the financial services industry. In the very near future (pretty much a week or so) I will begin a cross country move to start my new career out in the Bay Area of California.
I will try to keep this updated on my move, and my new career for anyone who cares to know what's up. I am looking at this as an experiment (akin to twitter) so I will see how I decide to use this. I figure I will also ramble on about random topics that seem interesting to me, and hopefully others.
